Saint Louis Bertrand - October 9 Louis Bertrand, OP (Spanish: Luis Beltrán or Luis Bertrán; Valencian: Lluís Bertran; 1 January 1526 – 9 October 1581) was a Spanish Dominican friar who preached in South America during the 16th century, and is known as the "Apostle to the Americas". He is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church. Early life Bertrand was born in Valencia to Juan Bertrand and Juana Angela Exarch. Through his father he was related to St. Vincent Ferrer, a thaumaturgus of the Dominican Order. At an early age he conceived the idea of becoming a Dominican Friar, and despite the efforts of his father to dissuade him, was clothed with the Dominican habit in the Convent of St. Dominic, Valencia, on 26 August 1544. After the usual period of probation, he pronounced the evangelical vows. He was grave in demeanour and apparently without any sense of humour, yet had a gentle and sweet disposition that greatly endeared him to those with whom he came in contact. While he …Hiroc’h

Ukrainian soldiers report critical conditions on the front lines. A brigade commander claims his troops have gone months without rotation or regular supplies of water, food, and medicine. A group of Ukrainian soldiers took to social media to say they were forced to drink their own urine due to Kiev’s failure to rotate or provide them with supplies. The soldiers urged Ukraine’s recently appointed top general, Mikhail Drapaty, to intervene, claiming their immediate command ignored their pleas. The scandal erupted on Tuesday when the soldiers, claiming to be a fire support platoon with the 121st Territorial Defense Brigade, published their address on social media. The video features several men sitting inside a dark room, likely a basement, with the platoon commander, who identified himself as Anatoly Sischuk, reading out the address. Sischuk claimed that his platoon was in one position in Zaporozhye Region, Russia for nearly four months, despite their command initially promising the unit …Hiroc’h
The Peruvian naturalization file of Robert Prevost preserves a handwritten letter in which he expressed his desire to remain in Peru “for the rest of my life.” The documentation, held by Peru’s National Superintendency of Migration, records the process through which the American-born Prevost obtained Peruvian citizenship in 2015 after years of pastoral work in the country. According to TVPerú Noticias, Prevost submitted his application in 2015 and addressed a handwritten letter to then-President Ollanta Humala explaining his ties to Peru and formally requesting nationality. As part of the naturalization process, Prevost also underwent an examination on Peruvian history, geography and culture. Héctor Pérez, head of Migraciones’ General Archive, said the future pope achieved an exceptionally high result. The essential details of Prevost’s naturalization are confirmed by official Peruvian records. Supreme Resolution No. 157-2015-IN, dated August 17, 2015, states that Prevost applied for …Hiroc’h
Mysteries of the Church: The Church and WWII. Until the Vatican began releasing secret documents in 2003, there was a shroud of mystery surrounding the covert efforts to battle the Nazi's and the nightmare of the Holocaust. Today, we examine the precarious position the Vatican found it self in as an independent city state, and the little known efforts of the Catholic Church during World War II.

Given the public glorification of demons in the Catholic Church, which has led many souls to become ensnared in SIN, how can the faithful help Jesus rescue the souls that have been lost? 1) Genesis 4:9; Yahweh said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” He replied, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” 2) Isaiah 40:6; A voice says, “Cry out!” And I say, “What shall I cry out?” — “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.” 3) James 5:19-20; If any of you, my brothers and sisters, stray from the truth and another brings you back, know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins 4) Isaiah 49:9; Say to the prisoners, “Come out,” and to those in darkness, “Show yourselves.” 5) Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: “As I live, declares the Lord God, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from their ways and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways. …Hiroc’h

Popes certainly have more important things to do than pay for their hotel room out of their own wallet, as Francis did at the beginning of his pontificate. Do they even have enough time for that?
Taybeh must not vanish into silence. Taybeh, the last fully Christian town in Palestine, is suffering months of attacks by Israeli settlers. On August 5, settlers entered the property of a Christian family belonging to the local parish, cut through the fence and brought a flock of sheep onto the family’s land. The incident follows reports of fires, damage to farmland and repeated incursions onto private property. Around 1,200 Christians remain in Taybeh, a West Bank town traditionally identified with the biblical Ephraim. Parish priest Bashar Fawadleh has appealed for international attention: “Do not forget Taybeh! Taybeh must not vanish into silence.”
Tajbeh, the last fully Christian town in Palestine, has been subjected to attacks and intimidation by Israeli settlers for months. Residents fear that the pressure will force more families to leave their homes and land. The village, located east of Ramallah in the West Bank, is identified with the biblical Ephraim. According to tradition, Jesus and his disciples found refuge there. Recently, there have been repeated incursions onto private properties and farmland. On August 5, settlers entered the property of a family belonging to the parish, destroyed the fence, and brought a flock of sheep onto the land. Such actions are systematic in nature and are intended to instill fear and force Palestinians to leave their land. There have also been instances of arson, destruction of fields, roadblocks, and restrictions on freedom of movement. “We feel forgotten; we feel alone,” he emphasizes, appealing to the international community for concrete protection of the civilian population and political …Hiroc’h
Chapter XXI ~ Diversity of the Pains — Blasio Raised from the Dead by St. Bernardine — Venerable Prances of Pampeluna and the Pen of Pire — St. Corpreus and King Malachy. The celebrated Blasio Massei, who was raised from the dead by St. Bernardine of Sienna, saw that there was great diversity in the pains of Purgatory. The account of this miracle is given at length in the Acta Sanctorum (Appendix, May 20). A short time after the canonisation of St. Bernardine of Sienna, there died at Cascia, in the kingdom of Naples, a child aged eleven years, named Blasio Massei. His parents had inspired him with the same devotion which they them- selves had towards this new saint, and the latter was not slow to recompense it. The day after his death, when the body was being carried to the grave, Blasio awoke as from a profound slumber, and said that St. Bemardine had restored him to life, in order to relate the wonders which the saint had shown him in the other world. We can easily understand the …Hiroc’h
"In Hell, Blasio saw indescribable horrors, and the divers tortures by which the proud, the avaricious, the impure, and other sinners are tormented. Amongst them he recognised several whom he had seen during life, and he even witnessed the arrival of two who had just died, Buccerelli and Frascha. The latter was damned for having kept ill-gotten goods in his possession. The son of Frascha, struck by this revelation as by a thunderbolt, and knowing well the truth of the statement, hastened to make complete restitution ; and not content with this act of justice, that he might not expose himself to share one day the sad lot of his father, he distributed the rest of his fortune to the poor and embraced the monastic life."
