@S&S good question. I have pondered that myself. I guess the object falls in a vacuum chamber because it is more dense than the vacuum around it? Pretty much as FHC said, “you can’t stand on nothing”. Never the less, if gravity was so strong as to pull trillions of tons of water in the ocean to hug the curve, why doesn’t it also pull the atmospheric water down as well? There is something more at play than the gravity idea. If it’s not molecular density, then I’m curious as to what it could be?

It’s debatable if gravity actually exists. I’m a believer that things rise & fall due to buoyancy & density in the atmosphere. There is just as much water floating in the skys above us as in the oceans below. but it’s not being ‘pulled down’ by gravity. Cool the clouds & they will fall, heat the oceans & the steam will rise. No magic gravity, just a sorting in the order of atmospheric molecular density. I could be wrong, but this makes more sense to me than the gravity thing.

@S&S I don’t need to be “all knowing” to use common sense. Physics shows that water flows until it settles, when it settles the liquid surface is level. If you stir it up by ANY force that might be out there, it will always turn back towards still & level equilibrium. If you are aware of any unknown forces, please share them? I’m open minded, I’m only here for the truth, I have no dog in the fight. Also, if gravity was responsible to ‘pull’ into the curved earth trillions of tons of oceanic water to make it stick to the surface? The intense force would stop the water flowing. But the oceans & streams flow quite well.
