On August 13, Leo XIV appointed Umberto Longo, Director of the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages in Rome and Professor of Medieval History at the secular Sapienza University of Rome, as a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. The online footprint of Umberto Longo repeatedly places that name - and, in later cases, an identifiable Professor Longo - within the institutional environment of Italian Freemasonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The examples span a decade. 2013 - Scottish Rite, Lazio: The Masonic publication LOGOS identifies a certain “Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°” as an officer of the Loggia di Perfezione Maestri Segreti “Giano” in Rome. The publication introduces a series of texts under the heading: “Le Tavole del Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°.” The abbreviation Fr. is used throughout for Fratello - “Brother” - while the number identifies the Scottish Rite degree. More importantly, the issue contains the official 2013 officers …ఇంకా
St. Maximilian Kolbe - August 14 Priest and Martyr (1894-1941) Raymond Kolbe was born on January 8, 1894, in Zdunska Wola, Poland, during the Russian occupation. The Kolbe home was poor but full of love. His parents, hardworking and religious, educated their three sons. Around 1906, an event took place that marked a fundamental milestone in his life. His mother related the event a few months after her son's martyrdom. "I knew ahead of time, based on an extraordinary event that took place in his infancy, that Maximilian would die a martyr. I just don't recall if it took place before or after his first confession. Once I did not like one of his pranks and I reproached him for it: 'My son, what ever will become of you?' Later, I did not think of it again, but I noticed that the boy had changed so radically, he was hardly recognizable. We had a small altar hidden between two dressers before which he used to often retire without being noticed and he would pray there crying. In general, he …ఇంకా

Today, Bishop Emeritus Christopher Saunders, 76, of Broome was convicted of 13 homosexual offences against two young Indigenous men in Western Australia. A jury in the District Court of Western Australia found Saunders guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual penetration without consent. The jury acquitted him on six other charges. The offences for which Saunders was convicted occurred between 2008 and 2019, while he was serving as Bishop of Broome. Saunders was also convicted of offences against a second man, including sexual penetration without consent. The jury deliberated for approximately seven hours before returning the verdicts. Earlier in the trial, the judge instructed the jury that it was not necessary to return verdicts on seven charges and to disregard them because there was insufficient evidence to convict. Saunders pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied the allegations. He did not give evidence during the trial. He is due to face a sentencing …ఇంకా

PIECZĘĆ Żywego Boga (Objawienie 7:2-3). „Pan zna tych, którzy są Jego” (2 List do Tymoteusza 2:19) 1) Ezechiel 9:4; Jahwe rzekł do niego: „Przejdź przez miasto, przez Jerozolimę, i naznacz KRZYŻEM czoła ludzi, którzy jęczą i lamentują nad wszystkimi obrzydliwościami popełnionymi w nim”. 2) Ezechiel 9:5–6; I usłyszałem, jak rzekł do pozostałych: „Przejdźcie za nim przez miasto i zabijajcie. Nie okazujcie litości, nie oszczędzajcie nikogo – zabijajcie starych, młodych, dziewice, dzieci i kobiety – aż nie pozostanie ani jeden. Not Disturbing the Political Powers Behind France’s Euthanasia Law? Bishop Emeritus Dominique Rey told TribuneChrétienne.com of his one regret about Leo XIV’s September 25–28 visit to France: the Pope’s “very busy program” leaves no time to visit people at the end of life or palliative care units. Yet Leo XIV’s schedule includes several other meetings, including one with survivors of clergy sexual abuse. Meanwhile, France is close to legalizing euthanasia.
Monseigneur Dominique Rey : "Nous aurions souhaité une rencontre avec des personnes en fin de vie"
Life in the Making It all begins in silence: one cell meets another, and in an instant, a new, unique, and unrepeatable life emerges. The imagery unfolds ceaselessly—division, form, heartbeat—until there is no longer any doubt about what we are seeing: not a mass of tissue, but a tiny body, joined to its mother by a cord that serves as both bridge and lifeline. Hands reaching out, legs curled up, a face settling into sleep just as any human being does. And therein lies the wrenching realization: that very being—already capable of movement, sensation, and resembling us—is the one whose life is chosen to be ended in a late-term abortion. It is not an abstract cell that is being stopped; it is a story that already possessed form, expression, and a heartbeat of its own. That is why those who defend life from conception describe such a decision—particularly in the later stages—as an act of special cruelty: because the biological development itself, revealed without filters, leaves little room …ఇంకా
Priest Remains at Altar as Earthquake Shakes Bogotá Chapel: A priest remained at the altar as an earthquake struck during the Consecration at a Mass in the Roman rite at the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bogotá on August 10. The altar server and congregation also remained in place as the church and hanging lamps shook. The Mass continued throughout the tremor.
This is how the priest and faithful attending the Traditional Latin Mass reacted when an earthquake struck in the midst of the Consecration. The footage was recorded at the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bogotá.
I remember seeing a army chaplin in WW2 reading mass while a huge artillary bombardment was going on all around him. They said once the consecration has started it can't be stopped until complete. It looks like this priest was in the middle of the consecration.
Today, Leo XIV sent a prerecorded video message to the 70th-anniversary assembly of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in Orlando. LCWR is the largest association of leaders of Catholic women religious in the United States. Its members are generally the superiors of congregations of sisters. The video was shown to an overwhelmingly elderly gathering, with scarcely a religious habit or young face in sight. Religious to Become “Experts in Synodality” Leo XIV said that all Christians are called to be “formed in a synodal Church”. He continued: “In a special way, those in religious life are called to become experts in synodality due to the opportunities afforded by community life to practice it.” Then, he praised the assembly's planned “synodal method of listening, discussion and discernment,” expressing the hope that through such “fraternal and receptive dialogue” the sisters would be able to “discern what the Holy Spirit is saying” about “the present and future of consecrated …ఇంకా

The Archdiocese of Utrecht has rejected as false rumours that Cardinal Willem Eijk, 73, could have asked Pope Leo XIV during an audience on Monday to accept his early resignation as Archbishop. “These reports are false. He has not offered his resignation,” the archdiocese told the Dutch newspaper Katholiek Nieuwsblad on Wednesday. An archdiocesan spokesman added that there was no basis for such speculation. The audience attracted attention because Eijk has experienced health problems in recent months and didn't attend the consistories in January and June. The archdiocese also provided an update on the cardinal’s health. “It is known that Cardinal Eijk struggled with health problems last winter,” the spokesman said. His recovery had taken longer than initially hoped, but was now progressing well. According to the archdiocese, Eijk is expected to resume his duties fully on September 1. #newsKxqihmxlwe

My faithful sons, keeping watch – tireless watch over My little ones. How tired you are. How discouraged, My sons. So much work, and nothing seems to be improving. The anguish of feeling so alone and so unheard. Raising your voices to warn, to guide, only to be silenced by those who should be …ఇంకా
Worse than Germany: Cardinal Tarcisio Kikuchi of Tokyo has welcomed the Japanese government's plan to promote "understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity", which was approved on 16 June. The plan involves education and "awareness initiatives" in government, schools, and workplaces, as well as measures to combat "discrimination" against homosexuals. In an interview with UcaNews.com on June 17, Cardinal Kikuchi described the government’s decision as “meaningful”, stating that it had clearly articulated a policy intended to foster a "deeper understanding of sexual minorities". And: "An inclusive community that welcomes everyone is not just an attitude; it is the first step towards building the world that God calls us to create." The cardinal's latest remarks are consistent with his longstanding homosex activism. Tokyo Archdiocese has organised monthly homosexual Eucharists. In 2023, he contributed to the book LGBT and Christianity, promoted by the 'Catholic HIV/AIDS Desk'. …ఇంకా
“Globalism has already failed to meet the needs of the people. It serves only the financial elite,” Marian Eleganti, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Chur, told LaNuovaBq on August 13. On Muslim immigration, he said: “Personally, I am convinced that Islam cannot be integrated into our political systems shaped by Christianity. There is no apolitical Islam, consisting purely of an interior religious life. It is a system of domination. The more convinced its followers are of this, the less integrable it is. The result is parallel societies.” He also criticized the Church’s approach to unlimited immigration: “The Catholic Church should not adopt an idealistic approach… [that] ignores the very real social problems associated with unlimited immigration.”

The complaint names Trump in his official capacity, along with White House Executive Assistant Natalie Harp, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Daniel Scavino, the Executive Office of the President, and the White House Office as defendants. The plaintiffs argue that the arrangement — in which paying subscribers receive the president's official announcements before the general public — violates the First Amendment's guarantee of equal access to a president's public statements and the Fifth Amendment's prohibition on unreasonable conditions for government benefits. Question: Based on all going issues since Benedict XVI resigned from ministerium and not from munus, how one can consider Bergoglio and Prevost were/are true popes? Canon 332 §2 of the 1983 Code states plainly: Si contingat ut Romanus Pontifex muneri suo renuntiet, ad validitatem requiritur ut renuntiatio libere fiat et rite manifestetur, non vero ut a quopiam acceptetur. "If it happens that the Roman Pontiff resigns his munus, it is required for validity that the resignation be freely made and properly manifested, but it is not necessary that it be accepted by anyone." The canon uses munus — not ministerium, not officium, not any other term. Munus in the canonical tradition carries the weight of the office itself: the ontological reality, the gift-and-burden of the Petrine charge, not merely its active exercise. On February 11, 2013, Benedict XVI declared in Latin: ...declaro me ministerio Episcopi Romae, Successoris Sancti Petri, mihi per manus Cardinalium die 19 aprilis MMV …ఇంకా
