Leo XIV shares a meal with the most vulnerable: "We hunger for a Church that welcomes everyone"

Speaking off-the-cuff at lunch with 200 poor people from the Diocese of Rome, and welcoming them to the Pontifical gardens of Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV says: “I didn’t prepare a speech because I am hungry. I’m hungry for justice, I’m hungry for authentic charity, I’m hungry for a Church that knows how to opens its doors, welcomes and looks after everyone.”

Benedict XVI's former secretary Georg Ganswein has spoken out on the restrictions imposed on the Latin Mass under Traditionis Custodes, saying that the time has come 'to lift those restrictions and move beyond the setback represented by that text'

Archbishop Gänswein: "Now Is the Time to Abolish Traditionis Custodes"

Archbishop Georg Gänswein hopes the restrictions on the Mass in the Roman rite will be lifted, he told Il Giornale on July 7.
Looking back to Benedict XVI's 2007 Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum, Monsignor Gänswein said the Pope wanted to restore “full rights to a rite that had never been abolished”: “His goal was to give it its rightful place again within the Church and to restore peace in the Church's liturgical life.”
According to Archbishop Gänswein, Summorum Pontificum was not conceived as a step toward reconciliation with the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X. Rather, “it was directed toward the Church itself.”
Benedict XVI was pleased with the results of this reform. “It was beginning to bear fruit. It worked especially well among young people, and this is evident above all in the steadily growing numbers participating each year in the Paris-to-Chartres pilgrimage.”
Monsignor Gänswein added that these young people are not opposed to the Second Vatican Council: “Anyone who …More

US Archbishop Calls Attending FSSPX Masses "Sinful"

Catholics may not knowingly take part in the liturgical celebrations, apostolates, or other activities of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X, Archbishop Shawn McKnight of Kansas City, Kansas, wrote in a July 2 statement following the episcopal consecrations.
McKnight noted that the SSPX's ministry "is not legitimate in the life of the Church" and that "the sacraments of Penance and Matrimony administered by them are now invalid."
Participation in the worship of the "schismatic" community fosters separation from the Church's communion, he added: "Such participation is not merely discouraged but is gravely contrary to the unity of the Church and, when undertaken with full knowledge and deliberate consent, is sinful."

Benedict XVI's Secretary Abp. Georg Gänswein: "The hardliners prevailed in the SSPX. But Rome should display flexibility on the Latin Mass: Francis made a mistake on Traditionis Custodes, a wrong decision that must be corrected"

Gänswein: FSSPX "More Hardline Than Ever"; Leo XIV Should Ease Latin Mass Restrictions

On 2 July, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, the Nuncio to the Baltic States, spoke to Corriere.it about the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X and the Mass in the Roman rite. Key quotes, slightly shortened
- The FSSPX has become even more hardline. It's unbelievable - truly sad.
- Their understanding of tradition is not tradition. They freeze Catholic tradition at Pius XII. After that, they see nothing but errors.
- Benedict XVI lifted the excommunications of the four bishops as a father seeking peace. It was an outstretched hand they refused. The radical faction prevailed—they rejected reconciliation then and still do.
- They are like the Protestants of five centuries ago. Cardinal Müller is right.
- I am very disappointed. Grace can do anything over time, but for now I see even greater distance and deeper hardening than before.

Cardinal at "Mass and Blessing" of Golden Homosexual Jubilee

On June 13, two homosexual men celebrated a “Mass of Thanksgiving for 50 Years of Friendship, Partnership, and Commitment in the Pursuit of Justice” at Holy Apostles Church in London, England.
About 150 relatives and friends of the hardened sinners attended.
The two homosexual men, Julian Filochowski and Martin Pendergast, established the Diocese of Westminster's "pastoral ministry" for homosexuals in 1999.
The principal celebrant was Fr. Jim O'Keefe, a longtime "friend" of the homosexuals.
The concelebrants were Bishop John Crowley, emeritus of the Diocese of Middlesbrough; Bishop John Rawsthorne, emeritus of the Diocese of Hallam; and Canon Chris Vipers, a priest of Holy Apostles Parish.
Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe, OP, delivered the homily. While celebrating homosexuality, he also blasphemed against the Holy Trinity, declaring: "I would add that the Son is the friend and the Spirit is friendship. So every true, faithful, well-lived friendship is a sharing in the life of God."

FSSPX Bishops Excommunicated - Clergy Declared Schismatic - Confessions Invalid

The Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith on July 2 issued a decree excommunicating the six bishops of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX).
The decree also warns clergy and faithful not to adhere to the Fraternity's schism, stating that doing so incurs automatic excommunication.
An accompanying explanatory note says that all attempts since Pope Paul VI to reconcile the movement founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre with the Catholic Church have failed.
The recent episcopal consecrations against the will of Pope Leo XIV, it says, "constituted the offense of schism, with the resulting canonical consequences for the sacred ministers and lay faithful involved."
"The sacred ministers belonging to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X are in schism and must therefore be considered schismatics."
Lay faithful who formally adhere to the Fraternity are likewise to be considered schismatics and excommunicated.

This statement from the Pornographer-in-Chief’s 1995 “theological” essay makes a mockery of Christ and His Passion...

Leo XIV’s Chief of Faith "Knows" that All Will Be Saved

In his 1995 article on Romans 9–11, the future Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Tucho Fernández, wrote that "all will be saved."
His goal is to “relativize the very basis from which questionable doctrines were elaborated,” wherein the "questionable doctrines" is Catholicism as developed from Scripture by St. Augustine, the Fathers, and the Scholastics, notes ElWanderer.com on June 23.
Fernández believes that Augustine's teaching "requires a revision" and later claims that Augustine's doctrine "did not offer a complete and harmonious vision of God, man and Christian experience."
"I know God's concrete plans"
Tucho's most extraordinary claim is: "I firmly trust that all will be saved; a trust based not on a desire, nor on my compassion for men, but on what I know of God and of His concrete plans thanks to His Revelation."
ElWanderer notes that the Church has never received a revelation that all men will be saved. On the contrary.

FSSPX Addresses Rome Again: "One Day Honest Discussion with Holy See"

The superiors of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X published today another Open Letter to Leo XIV and to the Cardinals. The letter is no call to action nor a negotiating proposal but rather another public reaffirmation of the Fraternity's long-standing position. Attached is a 28-page document (English below) with the Catholic faith.
