Hundreds of empty seats during Leo XIV’s Easter Vigil: Matt Butorac, a Catholic pilgrimage guide, reported on X that there were “hundreds of empty seats” during the Easter Vigil at St Peter’s Basilica. The screenshots, taken from a video he shared for "those claiming it was not empty", show the basilica during the baptisms. Butorac attributes this to ticketing issues and disorganised queues. However, shortly before the Eucharist began, entry was permitted without tickets and everyone was able to enter.

@sp2 I see your point and you could be correct. The published pic on this site showed less than a dozen empty seats which were probably in the back of the church. Unfortunately, too many media-types on both sides of any issue are inclined to push a narrative rather than inform their readers.

Irishpol

@sp2 perhaps you should share with us the specific time-mark in the vid you posted where it contradicts the conclusion that there were “hundreds of empty seats” during the service. The posted vid appears to only capture the seating in the front of the church.

Girls are hitting puberty earlier than ever before — and the numbers are shocking. In the late 1800s, the average age was around 16–17. By the early 1900s it had dropped to 12.5–13. Today it’s down to about 11, with some Black and Hispanic girls showing signs as early as 8, 9, or even 6–7 years old — the earliest recorded in history. Patrick Bet-David asked FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary why this is happening. Makary pointed to the modern environment: constant exposure to substances and chemicals with estrogen-like binding properties (found even in river water) that partially activate estrogen receptors. He called it a “huge issue” and an existential threat to human development, noting the age has been dropping by about a week and a half every year for the last 30 years. He also mentioned that in Europe, where some of these exposures may be lower, puberty still starts later (14–15 in some cases), and that American medicine has largely treated this as a minor footnote rather than …އިތުރު

Enoch Burke
@EnochBurke
BREAKING: Enoch Burke’s mother and sister arrested and jailed Martina and Ammi Burke were arrested by Gardaí today at Castlerea Prison after visiting jailed schoolteacher Enoch Burke, their son and brother. Judge Brian Cregan sentenced them to two weeks in prison after they spoke out against his lies and unlawful actions in the case of Enoch Burke.
Martina and Ammi Burke had been teaching in Castlebar this morning before travelling to Castlerea for their scheduled visit at 2.15pm. As they left the prison after concluding the visit, Gardaí were waiting outside to arrest them. Lies have been told from the bench since September 2022 when Enoch Burke was first taken from his teaching post at Wilson’s Hospital School and thrown into a jail cell. He refused to call a student by a new name and the “they” pronoun. He was subsequently suspended and has now spent over 600 days in prison.

Franca Giansoldati in the Vatican circus: a joke …
In the grotesque knot that has for years tightened around the Vatican, populated by impostors forever straining towards circles that continue to keep them at a distance, the tragicomic saga of certain self-styled Vatican experts and headline fabricators goes on unabated. They form part of a well-organised clique which now seems to have lost even the most basic sense of the ridiculous to which it has surrendered itself.
The April Fool’s joke that is not funny
Against this backdrop, at 9.29 a.m. on 1 April, Katholisch.de published an article claiming that Pope Leo XIV was intending, at least provisionally, to settle the dispute over the pre-conciliar liturgy through an unusual compromise. The piece attributed to the Pontiff a non-existent motu proprio, significantly entitled Retrograde semper, under which the faithful would supposedly have been permitted, during Mass, to turn their backs on the priest, regardless of which …އިތުރު

New Record: 14,000 Registered for Chartres Pilgrimage on First Day

Fourteen thousand people registered in a single day for the 2026 Notre-Dame de Chrétienté pilgrimage on the Paris–Chartres route, compared to 6,000 on the first day last year.
The pilgrimage will take place over Pentecost, from May 23 to 25, and is expected to gather 20,000 participants walking to Chartres.
A new, more accessible option - the “Jerusalem Route” - has been introduced. Shorter than the traditional 100 km walk (around 70 km), it is designed for those unable to complete the full distance. Like the main route, it also ends in Chartres, allowing more pilgrims to take part in the final stages of the pilgrimage.

I agree that this video is in very bad taste because they are mocking/ridiculing a sacramental whether they realize it or not. I wouldn't consider making a cross out of the palms "artistic" but it was probably the only correct or pious way to use the palm.

Dr. Roger Seheult just revealed one of the biggest studies on sunlight. A massive Swedish study followed 30,000 women for over 20 years and found that those who actively sought sun exposure had dramatically lower death rates from cancer, heart disease, and all causes.
The shocking part? Sun avoiders had roughly double the overall mortality. Even heavy smokers who got plenty of sun had similar death rates to non-smokers who avoided it. Sunlight appears to extend life through vitamin D, nitric oxide, and immune support - yet we're still told to hide from it. Marian Sanctuary in Northern Italy Denies Entry to FSSPX Pilgrimage

On March 28, a Lenten pilgrimage organized by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) was denied entry to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows in Cuceglio, near Turin, Italy.
Despite being announced in advance, the church doors remained closed to the group, which included priests, religious sisters, and families who had walked several kilometers in devotion.
The pilgrims had planned no Mass or formal liturgy - only a few concluding prayers.
According to the local newspaper La Voce, the decision to close the gates to the pilgrims was made by the rector of the sanctuary, Don Luca Meinardi, and by Bishop Daniele Salera of Ivrea. The newspaper comments: "A choice that inevitably contradicts an ecclesiastical vocabulary which, in recent years, has emphasized words like welcome, inclusion, dialogue, and mercy."

1. The War Was Predictably Destabilizing The speaker begins by saying any competent analyst should have known that attacking Iran would disrupt global energy markets. Iran has the capability to interfere with oil flows (especially in key shipping lanes), so economic fallout was a “known known”—not a surprise. 2. Failure to Build International Support They contrast this conflict with earlier U.S. wars: 1991 Gulf War: A broad coalition was built before combat—European allies, Arab states, and NATO partners were aligned. 2003 Iraq War: Even though controversial, the U.S. at least attempted to gain NATO backing and international legitimacy. Current situation: No real diplomatic effort was made to build a coalition. Europe is refusing to participate. European economies are already strained (e.g., from Russia sanctions), and this war is worsening their situation. Conclusion: The U.S. acted unilaterally and now stands isolated. 3. No Serious War Planning The speaker argues the war was launched …އިތުރު
