Christ was “flirting”: strange language at Leo XIV’s meeting on Amoris laetitia. At the Vatican event marking 10 years of Amoris Laetitia, Sr. Helen Alford, O.P., presented a fellow Dominican’s reading of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman: “In a somewhat provocative way, but I think it is a useful provocation, he calls the first stage ‘flirt.’” “A conversation between a woman and a man who are both alone.” As Jesus gradually transforms the conversation, Alford says “the ambiguity persists.” Later, after Christ confronts the woman about her five husbands and the man she is currently with, Sr. Alford says she realizes: “This man is not just flirting.”
At the Vatican’s Amoris Laetitia anniversary event, Sr. Helen Alford, O.P., approvingly presented a fellow Dominican’s “provocative” description of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman as beginning with a “flirt” — adding that “the ambiguity persists” before Christ confronts her with the truth.

“Recognizing the work of grace in situations of failure.” Pope Leo XIV opened a Vatican meeting on marriage and family in the Paul VI Audience Hall on October 7, marking the 10th anniversary of Amoris Laetitia. Presidents of bishops’ conferences, bishops and experts participate. “In many contexts, a growing distance has emerged between the way sex and intimacy are experienced and the Christian vision of marriage,” Leo XIV admitted. Speaking about "fragility" and "wounded" situations, he asked whether the Church can “recognize the work of grace even in situations marked by limitations, wounds, and apparent failure.”

Ap@statePrevost challenges Christ himself. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Are you not aware that wrongdoers will never inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, extortioners, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.
On Sunday, 7 October 1571, the waters at the entrance to the Gulf of Corinth witnessed one of the most extraordinary naval battles in Christian history. At Lepanto, the fleet of the Holy League met the Ottoman fleet in a confrontation that would become legendary. The Christian victory shattered the long-standing image of Ottoman naval invincibility and became, throughout Catholic Europe, a symbol of the triumph of Christian arms under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. ...
If it is not Charity, it does not belong to Jesus: 1 John 4:8; Whoever does not love has not known God, because God is Love. Ezekiel 18:32; “I take no pleasure in the death of ANYONE, no matter who they are,” declares the Lord God. “Repent and live.” 1) The Gravity of failing to correct. a) Ezekiel 3:18-19; When I say to the wicked, “You will die,” if you do not warn him—if you do not speak up to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked ways so that he may live—he, the wicked one, will die for his own sin, but I will hold you accountable for his blood. If, on the other hand, you warn the wicked person and he does not turn from his wickedness and his evil ways, he will die for his own sin, but you will have saved your own life. b) Hosea 4:6; My people perish for lack of knowledge. 2. The correct attitude is to DENOUNCE the sin of the people, as the Prophets did, and to rebuke them as Saint Michael the Archangel did, without passing slanderous judgment or deciding the final destiny of souls. …More
Suicide of a priest: Bernard Card, 73, parish priest of Sainte-Chantal Church in Dijon, France, has committed suicide (pictured left). The Diocese of Dijon announced his “tragic death,” which occurred during the night of October 4–5 at the Sainte-Chantal presbytery. Archbishop Antoine Hérouard (pictured right) described the suicide as “completely unexpected and difficult to understand.” According to reports citing his message to diocesan clergy, Rev. Card had recently been tired and had previously been deeply affected by the suicide of his brother. Ordained in 1981, Rev. Card served the Diocese of Dijon for more than four decades and had been parish priest of Sainte-Chantal since 2019. Despite the suicide, he will be buried at Sainte-Chantal on October 13. His death comes less than two years after another priest of the Diocese of Dijon, Rev. Claude-Marie Millet, also committed suicide. #newsAywayqmkjl
Bishops: this is the Proven Solution Editor’s note: under the new pontificate of Pope Leo, we will publish this monthly reminder of the proven, time-tested method to end heresy and the responsibility of every bishop for this, the “greatest act of charity.” onepeterfive | Back in 2023, all orthodox Catholics of good will heard the news of His Excellency, Bishop Paprocki’s condemnation of heresy in one of the most prominent American journals, First Things. This was ostensibly a condemnation of Cardinal McElroy’s brazen challenge to Catholic moral theology in two pieces (here and here) at America—a connection underlined by Bishop Paprocki’s quoting verbatim from the cardinal’s first article. Nevertheless, His Excellency did say shortly thereafter (on Raymond Arroyo) that he did not want to name names, but had European cardinals also in mind. Masculine Courage Faithful Catholics compare today’s bishops with the saintly bishops of old and they find the former woefully lacking in manly …More
BREAKING! According to hearsay, the Mostar bishops Žanič and Perič were allegedly "victims of slander"—a claim reported by some websites based solely on assertions made to serve a specific agenda. This stirred-up "Medjugorje controversy," propagated by numerous opponents of the Queen of Peace apparitions, reeks of malicious intent—or even a coordinated campaign. Yet, the opponents of the Queen of Peace apparitions have "forgotten"—or simply refuse to see—and are sweeping under the rug the objective, accessible facts regarding the very matters they claim to "refute" through mere hearsay.
