Leo XIV Appoints Synodal Bishop: "Open to Novelty and Change"

On June 20, Leo XIV has appointed Rev Elímar Gerardo Carvajal Durán, 50, as Bishop of Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
Born in Grecia in 1976 and ordained a priest in 2003, Monsignor Carvajal Durán has served in various pastoral roles within the Diocese of Alajuela and most recently as Diocesan Vicar for Pastoral Ministry.
He is a strongly synodal, CELAM-formed, Francis-era pastoral organizer. His public record shows extensive commitment to "discernment", "accompaniment", and "synodality".
Strong Synodal Profile
By September 2022, Rev. Carvajal had assumed a leading role in coordinating the Diocese of Alajuela's Diocesan Synodal Process.
In a September 28, 2022 talk on the Youtube channel of the Diocese of Alajuela, Monsignor Carvajal uses all of the Francis’ buzzwords such as "the synodal Church", "the reality is always before the idea", “listening to the cries of people”, etc.
His Language Speaks Volumes
In a September 5, 2023 video, Monsignor Carvajal said that discernment and synodality …Caman

Novelty and change have nothing to do with GROWTH. One grows in virtue, while novelty and change can refer to compromising the Catholic faith.

Catholic Bishop Shown in Hell. During the Hellfest festival, held from June 18–21, 2026, in Clisson, western France, a performer appeared on stage covered by a dark, skull-like mask and wearing a Catholic bishop's mitre. The stage production featured dark and occult-themed imagery. Pictures were shared on Hellfest's official Instagram account. It is one of Europe's largest heavy metal music festivals.

Satanists know firsthand that many churchmen have sold themselves to the devil, even in the highest levels of the Church (Fatima); one only has to look at the heresies they utter or the sins they support.

The Berlin Social Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group leader and his controversial photos with Islamists – Allah's Willing Executioners

Photo of Khattar (left) and Saleh in 2014 in front of a PFLP flag. abedkhattar.com/Screenshot WELT
Raed Saleh, the powerful German Social Democratic Party (SPD) puppet master, is repeatedly seen in the company of figures from the Islamist and Palestinian extremist spectrums. When questioned about this, he refers to it as an “absurd campaign”.
Raed Saleh is one of the most powerful officials and powerbrokers in the Berlin SPD. He has led the Social Democrats’ parliamentary group in the House of Representatives for 15 years now – an exceptionally long time by the capital’s standards. The SPD has been part of the governing coalition throughout that period. Many careers, personnel decisions and power dynamics within the state party are linked to the 49-year-old.
Saleh, who arrived in Germany with his parents from a village in the West Bank at the age of five and describes himself as a ‘working-class child’, credibly champions traditional SPD causes such as education, social mobility …

🌈 Archbishop Paglia's Moral Revolution Conceals an 'Unconfessable Interest' - Monsignor Melina

Monsignor Livio Melina (pictured with Benedict XVI), former president (2006-2016) of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, has written on Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia’s role in the suppression of the original Institute.
Melina responded on LaNuovaBq.it (June 20) to a May 21 interview Paglia gave to Settimana News.
“Cover for an Unconfessable Interest”
Melina’s most striking accusation comes near the end of his essay: “Paglia’s actions were not moved by theological reasons, but by an ideological criticism of the Institute.”
He suggests that ideology serves to hide deeper motives: “Ideology, as Karl Marx taught us, functions as a cover for an unconfessable interest.”
Melina suggests that the suppression may have stemmed from a conviction that the Church's traditional teaching on marriage and family is "unreasonable" and "impracticable".

Secure Elections as the Foundation for Protecting Life: Reflections from Decades on the Front Lines - Fides et Ratio | Reflections on life from a theological and rational perspective

When the Republican Party of Texas released its eight legislative priorities last week, one item immediately stood out. Secure Texas Elections claimed the number one spot. As a longtime grassroots activist, I saw this not merely as a political win but as a profound acknowledgment of what many of us have learned through hard experience.
For more than four decades, my husband Ted and I have poured ourselves into the pro-life cause. From our days as co-directors at Saint Mary’s Student Center, where we hosted expectant mothers in our tiny one-bedroom apartment alongside our infant son Jimmy and our cat Annie, to marching in Washington, D.C., and San Antonio, and serving on the financial steering committee for a major crisis pregnancy center, the defense of unborn life has been woven into the fabric of our marriage and family life.
We did not enter this work for recognition. We did it because the Gospel demands we defend the vulnerable, and because every child is made in the image of God.…

US Bishop Abolishes Another Mass in Roman Rite: Bishop William F. Medley of Owensboro, Kentucky, has ordered Rev. David Kennedy to stop celebrating according to the Roman Missal after June 30. He will only permit the Novus Ordo celebrated in Latin and ad orientem instead. Bishop Medley explains he cannot certify - as Vatican instructions required - that the parish has taken steps to move the faithful toward the Novus Ordo. He delayed action to see if Leo XIV would reconsider Traditionis Custodes but proceeded after the Cardinals' January Consistory declined to revisit the document.

German Diocese Reduces to Just NINE Parishes

The Diocese of Speyer in southwestern Germany plans to reduce its current 70 parishes to just 9 large parish units. Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesemann described the move as a “major turning point” that will require "courage" from all involved.
By October 31, the diocesan administration will present a plan for implementing the changes.
The new parishes will be led by a three-person team consisting of a pastor, a lay pastoral minister, and an administrative director.
Before a major reform in 2016, the diocese consisted of 346 parishes. These were merged into 70 larger parishes as part of the pastoral "reform" program.

Dorsey Expects to Be Ready, He Says, but Postponement Seems Probable
That Leo M. Frank will go on trial for the murder of Mary Phagan on June 30th is not a certainty, although it is generally conceded that Solicitor Hugh M. Dorsey will set the case on the court's calendar for that date when he returns to the city from New York.
Solicitor Dorsey will return to Atlanta on Sunday. In reply to a telegram from The Journal relative to the time of the trial he makes the following statement: "Cannot say definitely that state will be ready on June 30, but expect now to be."
As to whether or not the trial actually will be commenced on that date depends largely upon the defense, although there is a bare possibility that the court may wish to hold up the trial of the long case until after the jail is cleared. It is the general policy of the criminal division of the superior court to clear the jail for the summer at …

St. Louis IX, King.
If God sends you suffering,
receive it with humility,
think that you have deserved it,
and that He sends it for your salvation.
If everything succeeds for you,
do not then give yourself over
to pride
or to other misdeeds;
for you would be abusing God’s
benefits in order to offend Him.
— St. Louis IX, King
Saint Louis IX ruled France from 1226-1270 and is one of the most revered Catholic monarchs — a model of Christian kingship, justice, and piety. He went on two Crusades, promoted justice and charity in his realm, and was canonized in 1297.
Saint Louis IX is shown crowned and robed in blue with fleur-de-lis (the symbol of French royalty) holding the Crown of Thorns on a red cushion, with rays of light emanating from it. St. Louis IX acquired the relic of the Crown of Thorns from Constantinople and built the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris to house it.

Human beings are the most helpless newborns in all of nature. They cannot walk, speak, or regulate their body temperature. If left alone for just a few hours, they die.
And yet, we build cities and reach the moon.
This is not a paradox. It is the central mechanism of everything we are.
In this video, we explore how the human brain almost destroyed our species, why we are born incomplete, and how that fragility gave rise to empathy, cooperation, and intelligence.

Trump administration supports Catholic nuns fighting radical state transgender mandate - LifeSite

Sat Jun 20, 2026 - 10:11 am EDT
NEW YORK (
LifeSiteNews) — The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has notified the U.S. District Court that it intends to intervene in a lawsuit filed by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne against the State of New York, challenging a State law that requires housing biological men with women in the Sisters’ residential hospice care program.
The DOJ announced in a press statement that it supports the Sisters of Hawthorne’s argument that the New York law violates the U.S. Constitution’s equal protection of religious groups.
The Dominican Sisters, who for over 125 years have provided nursing care to poor patients dying from cancer, had been forced to go to court to fight against the state’s transgender mandate requiring them to use “preferred” pronouns and assign rooms based on patients’ chosen “gender identity.”
The mandate, which stems from New York’s so-called “Bill of Rights for Long-Term Care Facility Residents who are LGBTQ or Living with HIV,” …
