Spanish Bishops Divided over Immigrants in Ceuta: Archbishop Luis Argüello of Valladolid, president of the Spanish bishops’ conference, called the surge “an invasion,” contrasting with the local diocese’s humanitarian response. Argüello said the influx was part of a broader political strategy, arguing that migrants were being used in struggles for “money and power” and that “demographics are a weapon.”
Thousands of migrants have crossed the border between Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta without control. Overwhelmed, the security forces have opened the gates to prevent mass movements.
Homily for the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Preached by father Alberto Ezcurra -RIP- (Audio recorded in 1987 -Spanish). In Sacred Scripture, the sea is a symbol of the world, its frailties, changes, and dangers. The roar of the sea and the waves is also the noise of the world that hinders prayer; for the Word of God, like a gentle breeze that reaches the heart of man, speaks in silence. Only Jesus Christ, Lord of time and history, reigns over the elements and gives us security and confidence. It is not for nothing that one reads on the thresholds of many convents and on the domes of countless churches: "Crux Stat, Dum Volvitur Orbis - The Cross remains while the world changes." And so that we may have a solid foundation, He has placed Peter, the vicarious rock of the true Rock, as the cornerstone of His Church, a rock that remains afloat not by its own strength alone but by the call of the Lord. The Church of Christ is divine because it is fixed in the eternity of God, beyond the …More
Bishop Raúl Vera: Homosexuality is a natural phenomenon; it is neither a human perversion nor a disease. It is a condition with which a person is born, and one that we must respect and promote. Visit our Blog: pagina-catolica.blogspot.com
Welcome Jesus before that it be too late Yes, God wants all men to be saved, but saved during the life he gives them here on earth, because there is no other. After this life comes eternity, eternal life. I repeat this because even priests find it hard to accept: there is no third life between time and eternity in which we can still secure our salvation. As God teaches through the mouth of Saint Paul: At the acceptable time I heard you; on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Now, not tomorrow. That is why the Apostle says: Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Why work out your salvation with fear and trembling, if you can still do it in death, once you are free from the cares and temptations of this world?
The United States Department of Justice Justice Department Secures Agreement with Connecticut Children’s to End Pediatric “Gender-Affirming Care” “The Department of Justice will stop at nothing to protect America’s children,” said Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward. “This resolution is a reminder to hospitals, medical providers, and pharmaceutical companies that the Justice Department will vigorously enforce federal law, especially where the lives of children are endangered.” Connecticut Children’s becomes the third hospital to reach an agreement with the Department of Justice to stop providing sex-rejecting procedures to minors. On 4 August, Peruvian essayist Santiago Roncagliolo, in a lengthy interview with Daniel Titinger, described Leo XIV's behind-the-scenes methods as Bishop Robert Prevost of Chiclayo, Peru. According to Roncagliolo, Prevost quietly built coalitions, divided opponents, managed information, and preferred discreet political action to public confrontation. Roncagliolo is broadly sympathetic to Leo XIV. "As a character to narrate he was a nightmare. He has no phrases, no scenes, no gestures. You ask the sources: 'What did Prevost say at that dramatic and crucial moment?' 'Nothing, I think'.'" Weakening Opus Dei from Within Interviewer Titinger described Prevost as "a Trojan horse": "He understands the adversary, doesn't confront him openly, but disables him from within. He's always quiet; that's why he wasn't well known." Roncagliolo does not reject the characterization and discusses Prevost in those terms. He also explains how Prevost weakened Opus Dei: "Prevost divided Opus Dei. He offered …More
Serbia's Giant Cross Is Inspiring the World Again | Shalom World News At the entrance to the Serbian city of Kragujevac, every road seems to lead to the Cross. Rising 18 meters into the sky, the St. George's Day Cross (Đurđevdanski Krst) has stood for more than 15 years as a powerful reminder that Christ remains at the heart of a nation shaped by faith. Designed by Serbian sculptor Zoran Ilić and consecrated in 2010 by the Serbian Orthodox Church, the monument bears a striking six-meter relief of Christ's Crucifixion on one side and an image of St. George on the other. This year, the Cross was lovingly restored after the Eparchy of Šumadija initiated conservation work to preserve one of Serbia's most recognizable Christian landmarks. The restoration included cleaning the monument, repairing damaged sculptural elements, renewing the gilded halos and protecting it for generations to come. For the people of Kragujevac, this is more than a monument. It is part of everyday life. Locals simply …More
Pope Leo prays inside historic Porziuncola chapel | Shalom World News History stood in reverent silence as Pope Leo XIV stepped into the legendary Porziuncola chapel during his pastoral visit to Assisi on August 6. The Holy Father, descending from the altar of the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels, entered the chapel, which was historically rebuilt by St Francis of Assisi, and paused in prayer for a while. Renowned as the Cradle of Franciscan Order, this chapel, which was once in ruins, was repaired by St Francis of Assisi. Later this tiny chapel housed inside St Mary of the Angels Basilica became the first home and motherhouse of the Order of Friars Minor.
One must first understand why wars are fought in the first place. Christian Rakovsky, a founder of Jewish Bolshevism and one of the architects of World War II, was very clear on why that war was fought. First, to punish Germany for printing their own money and prevent their example from spreading to other nations. Second, to prevent Germany's nationalistic spirit from spreading to other nations. Third, and most importantly, to weaken and destroy the Catholic Church. Here are Rakovsky's own words, tape recorded and reprinted in the book Red Symphony by Dr. J. Landowsky "Hitler, this uneducated and elementary man . . . took over for himself the privilege of manufacturing money . . . Are you capable of imagining what would have come of this system if it had infected a number of other states . . . This is very serious. . . . There is only one solution - war. "We have yet another reason, a religious one. Communism cannot be the victor if it will not have suppressed the still living Christianity …More
Daniel 7:13-14 And I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven, one like a son of man. He came to the one of great age and was led into his presence. On Him was conferred sovereignty, glory and kingship, and men of all peoples, nations and languages became his servants. His sovereignty is an eternal sovereignty which shall never pass away, nor will His empire ever be destroyed.
