Often the answer is at the end of a sentence: "The purpose of his love." Let us begin there.

Mutual love grows when we allow ourselves to be loved by God. Let us allow God’s love to flow from heart to heart.

God’s love is known to God.

In peace, in silence, evil cannot hold. Jesus’ exclamation, “Be quiet!” is an invitation to the tormented person to receive peace within. Healing silence is the peace of the Holy Spirit.

Peter to Jesus: “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.”

“I will give you rest in your land.”
The Holy Spirit is rest. Let us now rest in the love of God.
Matthew 22:34-40
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “You shall love the Lord (…) You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
But that’s not all. In other versions of the Gospels, Jesus and the young man say that something is missing.
Let us learn to let ourselves be loved by God. This is the beginning.
