Prevost brothers
Let me introduce you two gentlemen to a few people who are struggling with their faith after your brother and his predecessor have savaged Church dogma and doctrine.
Leo XIV at Mass in Bamenda, Cameroon: “Obey God, not human beings. To obey Him, because He alone is …
He doesn't know enough Catholic theology to even realize he contradicted himself.
This is Easter Mass in 1940. Does anyone, serious about their faith, genuinely think Vatican II and …
@chris griffin I hate to disagree with you because I admire and agree with your complete commitment to pro-life. A proper response to your remark would take much longer than a combox space. But, a reminder: Our Lord was addressing his first priests - not the disciples in general. As time and depth of understanding of the sacrament unfurled, the Word made Flesh being received on the human instrument by which words are formed became the norm - East and West.

@Beatus Vir I stand corrected. It was April 8th, 2005, at the funeral Mass of JP II. He gave Communion to the Swiss Protestant founder of the Taize community, Brother Roger Shutz. Ratzinger was elected to the papacy 11 days later. Roger had received communio in sacris several times from JP II while Ratzinger was head of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith.
Leo XIV welcomes Trump’s ceasefire in Iran, and urges prolonged dialogue to end the conflict: “…
Dialoguing with these Muslim fanatics is like going to Jerusalem and praying at the fake "remains" of the Temple (they're no such thing): it's like talking to a wall.
DJ priest's tribute to Francis
@charisma He looks more like a loser who couldn't do anything else, so he gets ordained to receive a dose of instant status. Lotsa them in the last 60 years.

@yuca2111 JP II refused to permit Communion in the hand in Poland during his Pontificate despite the Polish bishops requesting more than once. Shortly after his death and the election of Ratzinger, they requested it again. Within a year (almost to the day of Wojtyla's death), Ratzinger as Benedict gave the permission.
Catholic Cardinal Ernest Simoni - sympathetic to the Traditional Mass - alongside Leo XIV in the Urbi …
@Lisi Sterndorfer And if you'd quiz each one of them as to what they actually have been taught (and not been taught) and what they believe (and do not believe): you'd end up with FAR fewer Catholics (unfortunately, unknown to most of them).
Fr Prevost Participated in "Pachamama" Ritual in 1995
@Vincent Capuano Tell that narrative to Solomon and Achaz (both of whom played along with the idolatry of their wives). Nothing is more contemptible in the eyes of God (IF you believe Sacred Scripture reveals His point of view).
FSSPX: Bishop Eleganti Contradicts Bishop Schneider
Both are examples of the proverbial moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic.
Fr. Ripperger: Abomination of desolation refers to Catholic Church becoming ‘compromised’
Fr. Ripperger is a brilliant and solid Thomistic philosopher and theologian. However, I disagree with his constant revelations concerning what transpires during exorcisms in which he has participated. Exorcists should neither be seen nor heard. He's feeding a morbid interest in the preternatural, while exhibiting a strange mistrust in the veracity of the demons he frequently cites. Also, despite the headline in this post, he inexplicably denies there exists a state of necessity in the Church (and in a recent interview with Shawn Ryan, denies that the rot goes to the "top" of the Church) - and is deeply opposed to the SSPX.
St. Benedict ~~~ The first degree of Humility is prompt Obedience..
St. Benedict, with this citation, is addressing the monastic principles of his Rule. If you are posting this to address the present crisis in the Church, with the implication that those who refuse to accede to the policies of the present and recent pontificates, you are citing that which is far from the original context and not applicable.
**Faith Without Submission Is Dead: A Catholic Wake-Up Call to the “Traditionalists” Who Resist the …
@brhenry Your post proves nothing. You beg the question as to how to identify legitimate authority. Nor is this a matter of "private knowledge." We're in a time of unprecedented crisis, walking in uncharted territory with many theological issues being raised that will not be addressed or answered with mere citations of Scripture or sweeping generalizations - by either side of the divide.
Archbishop Viganò calls Cardinals Burke, Müller and Sarah ‘Controlled Opposition’
@brhenry Without proper theological qualification, your correction is deficient. To employ a well-known adage, "Even the devil can quote Scripture." Please note my statement that the infused theological virtue of Faith reveals who is and who is not entitled to the moral virtue of obedience. That appears to me the nub of the controversy - the equalizing of these two virtues.
Archbishop Viganò calls Cardinals Burke, Müller and Sarah ‘Controlled Opposition’
@brhenry Faith is a theological virtue. Obedience is a moral virtue related to justice. In the hierarchy of virtues, obedience is neither a theological virtue nor a cardinal virtue. Faith reveals what is of Divine authority - not the other way round. There is a hierarchy of the virtues. Please recognize them.
Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone: "Thank you to all who crowded the National Shrine of St. Francis of …
He's never suppressed the "LGBQT-friendly" Holy Redeemer parish in the Castro district of San Francisco. After a visit there he stated in an interview that his dialogue with the sodomites "tenderizes one's heart." Please excuse my lack of enthusiasm.
Priest Urges Parents to Take Kids to Mass
I could not disagree more. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is not a playground. This is very much a Novus Ordo mentality. I guess with dwindling numbers the priest must find a way to fill the pews.
Novus Ordo Must Be Accepted in Obedience - Cardinal Brandmüller
@Anthony November Excellent insight. May I add that if he was aware of the study done by Dr. Laura Pristas (a Novus Ordo college professor)with her conclusion that the Collects of the New Mass pray differently than the Mass of Pius V, I doubt if he would have written as he did.
Cardinal Sarah Critiques FSSPX
If Sarah or Mueller said anything different about the SSPX, they'd need to condemn themselves: they and many other so-called "conservatives" in the hierarchy have been participants in the Neo-Protestant Revolt against the Church of the previous 20 centuries. The Neo-Revolt began in ambiguity (the Council) and was systematically institutionalized (post-conciliar policies).
