Press TV reports from Gaza's ruined farmland — only 3% of cropland accessible and undamaged
Press TV has filed a report from Deir al-Balah, capturing the dire state of the Gaza Strip's agricultural land 3 years into the war — fields that once fed the territory now destroyed, inaccessible, or both.
The footage comes as UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization data from August laid out the scale of the loss: Just 448 hectares of cropland remain accessible and undamaged — down from 601 in October 2025, a 25.5% drop since the ceasefire
Another 3,643 hectares are accessible but too damaged to farm without rehabilitation
Greenhouses have fallen 17.3% to just 224 hectares
The FAO attributes the loss mainly to the westward expansion of the "Yellow Line" separating the ceasefire zone from Israeli-controlled territory
Import restrictions are compounding the crisis — livestock farmers can't obtain animal feed or veterinary supplies
"Without urgent action to restore safe access and provide farmers with the support they need, opportunities to restore local food production will continue to diminish," FAO's report stressed.
