The problem, of course, is the denial that culture is important. A society, any society, survives based on common values and expectations. If, as has happened in France, a woman can be knifed for beach-dress by someone who “was caused to sin” by her attire, those cultures cannot live side by side. If one culture esteems the protection of the innocent while another considers anyone outside of their religion “guilty”, those cultures cannot live side by side.
It seems, the only peaceful solution is to fund a new homeland for displaced people. It is already costing Europe Billions to house and feed migrants and the inestimable loss in lives to accept random migrants. It would be far cheaper to buy land and (literally) build cities for refugees than to promote unhappiness on the part of both migrants and nationals by forcing the two together.
