Predbežné odvolanie FSSPX zamietnuté: Lehota, ktorú mal Vatikán na odpoveď Kňazskému bratstvu sv. Pia X. (FSSPX) ohľadom jeho predbežného odvolania proti dekrétu z 2. júla, ktorým bolo šesť biskupov automaticky exkomunikovaných, už uplynula, poznamenáva @Michael Haynes. FSSPX podalo svoje odvolanie Svätej stolici 11. júla. Podľa kánonického práva mala príslušná autorita na odpoveď 30 dní. Keďže táto lehota uplynula bez rozhodnutia, FSSPX môže prejsť k ďalšej fáze svojho kánonického odvolania. Kánon 1735 stanovuje, že ak sa v predpísanej 30-dňovej lehote nevydá žiadne rozhodnutie, lehota na podanie hierarchického odvolania začína plynúť od 30. dňa.

Just 24-hours before the SSPX plans to consecrate four new bishops, the Pope sent his much awaited final appeal to the Society, seeking to call off the ceremony even at such late notice.
