Aaron Klein is a baker from Gresham, Oregon. He is the subject of a state
investigation after he refused to make a wedding cake for two homosexuals.
A woman who filed the complaint said she had previously bought a cake from Klein for her mother's wedding. But when her partner went back for their wedding cake, Klein refused. The Oregon Equality Act of 2007 prohibits so called discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity. The statute includes public accommodations, such a sbusinesses. But Klein is convinced: "My First Amendment rights allow me to practice my religion as I see it". The question is now: whether Klein’s constitutional rights will outweigh state statute.

Thanks to an unpublicized project by the city’s administration, New York City schools are offering young girls a full menu of birth control options, free of parental counsel. Im 2011 2012 School nurses handed out 12,721 doses of the "morning-after" pill. Mona Davids, president of the NYC Parents Union said: "What gives the mayor the right to decide, without adequate notice, to give our children drugs that will impact their bodies and their psyches? He has purposely kept the public and parents in the dark with his agenda."CreativeMinorityReport comments: "This is the same guy who's constantly talking about protecting the children but he's willing to give young students a dangerous abortifacient carcinogen without parental notification? He should be charged with child endangerment."

The Archbishop of Cologne Joachim Cardinal Meisner issued newly a statement through his spokesman Christoph Heckeley on the use of morning after pill in Catholic hospitals. There he called it justifiable if, after rape the morning after pill is used with the intend of only preventing fertilization. The German magazine Focus asked Heckeley if this decision of the Cardinal was consulted with the Vatican. He answered: yes. The Cardinal however didn’t tell him with whom. Heckeley said, the Cardinal wouldn’t answer this question anyway. The anti-church German magazine Spiegel reported on Monday, that this “positive” morning after pill allegedly without abortive effects is not available at all on the German market – neither does it exist somewhere else in the world.
Romania
Seven years lasted the legal battle between the Catholic Archdiocese of Bucharest and the owner of the Skyscraper built right behind the Catholic Cathedral. In an unprecedented, definitive decision, the court ordered a 19-story skyscraper demolished and the land restored to its prior condition — a small, city park. The gigantic steel office tower began to raise in the air in 2006, just 26 feet from the cathedral’s unreinforced brick walls. The tower known as Cathedral Plaza, was illegally constructed in a brazen gesture that threatened the cathedral’s physical security while limiting the ability of citizens to exercise religious freedom.
