The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the film. The £10-a-seat event was sold out. It is officially forbidden to hold chargeable events in churches. The organisers said: "We can't think of a better venue than the truly gothic St Patrick's Church for this celebration of one of the funniest and most cinematically beautiful films of all time!"
